r. Lot Miguel Enrique Reyes lives in a small village in Honduras. When his vision began to fail, there was nothing that could be done for him in his country. Because Mr. Reyes is very poor, he could not pursue vision care elsewhere.

Casa de Sara arranged for Mr. Reyes to come to Knoxville, TN and have surgery to restore his vision. When Mr. Reyes arrived in the USA, he came to have a cornea transplant. As it turned out he was not a candidate for the surgery. Instead, he was given an Intacs implant to reshape his eye and restore his vision.

We could not have arranged this trip without the kindness and generosity of others. A very special thanks goes to the Oak Ridge Century Lions Club District 12-N for donating the funds for Mr. Reyes' plane ticket. A heartfelt thanks goes to Dr. Marc Bodenheimer and his nursing staff who gave their time and resources to treat Mr. Reyes. Dr. Bodenheimer is the only doctor in East Tennessee who performs Intacs surgery. Special thanks goes to The Keraticonus Foundation for supplying the Intacs for the surgery. and, special thanks goes to Mrs. Febe Torres for her help in the US Embassy in Honduras.

Mr. Reyes has never been out of his country. In fact, he has never been more than two house away from his home. He has never seen a doctor in his life, other than the doctor that told him his vision could not be fixed in Honduras. Mr. Reyes has now returned safely and happily back to Honduras with good vision. We think he could be the only person in his country with these Intacs implants!
